A lumpectomy confirmed that I had Stage 1 breast cancer and it had not spread to my lymph nodes. A second opinion affirmed what my doctors had recommended– six weeks of radiation. Genetic testing was done as a precaution to ensure that I didn’t have the BRCA gene mutation.
The medical staff at Holy Cross Hospital and Broward Health Medical Center were amazing. I can not express how extraordinary the staff was to me. The care, compassion, kindness and personal attention were far beyond that which I could ever have imagined. I have never encountered a more competent, dedicated, and caring group of people. I am forever grateful.
My family was awesome! We took photos of my journey with my family, friends, medical team and other cancer patients and survivors for my “cancer book.” It helped me realize how important it is to lean on others and not go through the journey alone…

Here in the showroom is an overwhelming array of luxury vessels where racers, cruisers and anglers will think they are at the end of the rainbow. And for Randy Sweers, who owns this business with his wife, Kim, FastBoats is a rainbow that continues to expand.
Randy’s MBA from the University of Toronto, led him to a banking position in South Florida, but he was, as the cliché goes, “a fish out of water.” Boating and racing were his adored hobbies, so it wasn’t surprising when he resigned to seek employment in the marine industry. With his educational background, Randy fielded lots of offers, but he didn’t jump for the first job.

FB Marine Group Awarded PortMiami Contract
Premier marine service provider to refurbish two Miami-Dade patrol vessels
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (March 14, 2017) – South Florida-based FB Marine Group, a marine sales and service dealership, announced that it has been awarded a large government contract to refurbish, refinish and repower two coastal patrol boats for Miami-Dade County and PortMiami.
FB Marine Group has been a preferred service provider for Miami-Dade County since 2012. Once completed, the two, 28 foot aluminum chambered boats will patrol PortMiami. According to a 2015 census report, Miami Dade County is the most populous county in Florida and the seventh most populous county in the United States.
“Our team of experts is ready to deliver the high-quality products and services we are known for on these two very important projects,” said Kim Sweers, FB Marine Group’s managing partner. “We’ve long been a service provider to numerous government agencies and we’re confident that these boats will be better than new once completed, ready to help protect the citizens of Miami-Dade and serve the county for many years to come.”
